Express Entry

When creating an Express Entry profile during the Canada Immigration Application process, your candidacy is assessed using a comprehensive points-based system. Points are allocated based on:

1. Your educational qualifications.
2. Proficiency in English and/or French, the official languages of Canada.
3. Your work experience and professional skills.
4. Your age.
5. If you’ve secured a job offer in Canada.
6. Your spouse’s education, language abilities, and work experience.

Additional bonus points are awarded if you’ve completed a college or university program in Canada or have a Provincial Nomination, an important aspect of the Provincial Nomination Business Program.

Based on your overall score, if you rank high, you’ll receive an invitation to apply for Canada Permanent Residency as a skilled immigrant under one of the express entry streams.

Upon accepting the invitation and submitting further documents, your PR application process will then be initiated. The aim is to process this key component of the Canada Immigration Application within the next six months.

You must use Express Entry to apply for:
• The Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSW)
• The Federal Skilled Trades Program (FST)
• The Canadian Experience Class (CEC)

Once you’ve submitted your Express Entry profile for the Canada Immigration Application process, it will be added to a pool of all current applicants.

Your profile will then be ranked against others in the pool, with your standing based on the total points you’ve accumulated.

If you achieve a high ranking, your profile will be selected from the pool, and you’ll receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Canada Permanent Residency as a skilled immigrant.
