Canada’s immigration minister has just announced that Express Entry draws for all categories (FSW, CEC, FST) will resume in early July 2022.
Most new express entry applications will be processed within the six-month service standard.
Applicants will no longer have to be in Canada during the processing of their applications.
All post-graduate work permit (PGWP) holders whose permits expire between Jan and Dec 2022 are eligible for an 18-month extension.
PR applicants and their family members will be eligible for an open work permit when processing their permanent residence applications.
These announcements are a relief to 95,000 PGWP holders and over 200,000 applicants in the express entry pool eagerly awaiting the draws to resume.
