Effective today, January 21, 2021, until July 27, 2021, IRCC will accept applications from PGWP holders for a new work permit subject to them meeting the below requirements:
- Had a PGWP that expired on or after January 30, 2020, or a PGWP that expires within 4 months or less from the date of application;
- currently reside in Canada;
- Have a valid temporary status or be applying to restore the temporary status with this application;
- Have a valid passport.
New work permits issued under this policy will be valid for 18 months, and it is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure the passport is valid for the duration of the work permit.
